Martin Martinsson is a Munich based Architectural Office with the main focus on creating sustainable Urban Design.
The firm has its roots in Martin Martinssons Master Thesis in Urban Design, at Lund University in Sweden, which later gave him the opportunity to work as a freelance urban designer for a wide range of clients. After several years of consulting, parallel to working as an architect for different renowned offices around Europe, the firm has acquired a solid base of clients and is now the prime focus for Martin Martinssons daily work.
Martin Martinsson Architecture is originally Swedish, but since almost ten years based in Munich, Germany, where the founder lives. Working for almost fifteen years as an Architect in Sweden and Germany he has gathered a wide range of experience, not only in Urban design, but also in most other fields of Architecture, ranging from residential buildings, offices to interior design.
Martin Martinsson is a passionate photographer and also does Architectural photography for other architects who wish to document their work.
Martin Martinsson Architecture has an analytical approach to urban design where, in close contact with the developer, the specific needs, constraints and hidden opportunities of each individual site are analysed and documented. Solutions are applied according to the specific desires of the client in combination with a set of tools based on the traditional urban grid adapted to the challenges of a modern city.
Important tools are variation in scale, form and function with a clear division between public, semipublic and private areas. Social, economical and environmental sustainability is a the main goal of each project. The analytical approach, where all factors are analysed and documented, facilitates the communication between the developer and the community and creates an atmosphere of mutual benefit between private and communal needs.
