Information | Design proposal for a columbarium at the cemetary of Heilig Kreuz Fortenried in Munich. The design proposal features two elegant L-shaped concrete structures that create a serene, enclosed space perfect for mourning and contemplation. Inspired by medieval monasteries and the concept of the "hortus conclusus," this sacred area is beautifully enclosed by gates at each end. Within these walls, the ashes are lovingly placed in the columbarium, each resting place sealed with a uniquely designed grave tablet. The project was later taken over by Architekt Cornelius Tafel who finished the project with a slightly alternative design. |
